Default will 16" wheels fit on 2010 Rubicon

I have a chance to buy 2009 Wrangler 16" rims. Does anyone know for sure if they will fit without a problem on a 2010 Rubicon? I just want them for winter tire use with 245/75R16 tires that I have already. There seems to be some confusion when I search on the Web as to regular Wrangler vs Rubicon wheel stud patterns.

They are both 5X5 so you will be fine.

This side of the pond it appears that 2010 JKs have larger brake rotors, which prevent mounting of 16" rims unless some work on the calipers is made and particular rims are chosen.
I do not know if this is also applicable for US-spec vehicles.

Really? Here in the US, the base model Wranglers come with 16" steel wheels. Do the ones over there only come with the 17" alloys, or do they offer something different?

Bikerbill.......The 16" wheels should fit fine. The only thing to note is the backspacing. As long as you are keeping your Jeep stock it shouldn't be a problem. If you add a budget boost or aftermarket lift, then you might get some rubbing issues in the rear from the swaybar links.

Default thanks

Thanks for the feedback. I "thought" that they should fit and I plan to be stock. It's already high enough off the ground for my short legs. Its a deal for the rims with TPMS and tires but I don't need the rubber so I can probably trade the rubber with my tire shop to move over my other tires. Again Thanks.

Oh, never had steel wheels for the JK around here, although they are in the brochure
Since MY2010, only 17" alloys are offered, and at the same time - at least in Italy - DC 'downsized' the tires to 245/75 ...

I have some doubts about the 16". My Rubicon MY2010 came with 17" alloy rims and brake disks take almost all the space.

Our base models come with 225/75R16 tires and 16x7 steel wheels. They look hilarious when parked to a Jeep with the 255/75 tires that came on everything else
