Why cant I get a responce from Motech
After 24 years of waiting, I finally made it to Moab last week. I had been planning this since I was 14 years old living in Arkansas. Now being 38 and living in Utah for a while, I finally had a jeep ready to go to Moab. We planned the trip and made the 180 trip in the 2010 JKUR. As we are pulling into the hotel parking lot, I hear the unmistakable sound of rods banging against the crank. We barely made it to the hotel, so all of the planning was for nothing, no trails. The stock 3.8 with a meticulous maintenance record is done, so I don't have a desire to put another 3.8 back in it. This is where I am turning to Motech. The issue is that I have called Motech on Friday, sent an email on Sunday, and called twice on Monday, left a message, and sent a text message as the recording says to do. Has anyone had issues getting ahold of someone there? I am assuming they are just so busy that they don't have time to answer phone calls, but I need to get some info to start getting my funding lined out and to pickup my donor vehicle picked up. From everything I have heard, they are a top notch company, with great support but I am on a huge time crunch and I just need to see what the timeframe is to get a kit so I can do the work myself.
For those of you wondering. I have a 2007 GMC Savanah van found with a 100K mile Gen IV 6.0 and a 4l80E that may need a rebuild, or a torque converter.
My other question is what are some other good options if I can't get a response from Motech. I saw RPM extreme kits, and I know there are some others, but cant recall who makes them. I am not against doing it all my self, but making the mounts and building accessory brackets would take too much time and I need to get this back on the road ASAP. My budget is $10K to do the full swap myself.

Well I would vouch for Motech. They did my kit, I installed it and the support was fabulous. There is a "Build You JK" menu on the website. Robbie gets dozens of calls a day and about 90% of these are tire kickers who never had that kind of money in the first place. My recommendation is to fill out that "Build Your JK" thing and he will get back to you. In the comments you need to tell him what your motor and tranny is as he does not produce kits for the older stuff now but he may have something there. He does support older installs still though so that is a good trait with him. The Gen V conversion costs about $7000 with no engine and tranny!! Get the Camaro SS fan it is fantastic.

You get frustrated taking questions and never getting the business, I get it all the time with DOM tube sales. I get about 5 requests day that don't respond after giving a quote and I am 30-80% cheaper than any other steel supplier in town. "let me measure and see what I need" is a common reply from morons that are just wasting my time.

I would do the formal contact with Robbie by form and advise what you want to put in. Before you purchase the engine. Not sure if he can do that model any more. Sign of progression.
I picked up my 16000 mile 5.3LT 2016 c/w ECU, harness, accessories and 8 speed 8L90 transmission for $3500 out of Texas. Private sale. They are out there.

Overland might have the best but a) it is LS only not LT engines and b) he still uses the most important part and that comes from Motech which is the MoCan module (Jeep to Chev interface). No one else seems to either want or is able to make that work and that makes the conversion seem like factory with functionality of the peripheral systems EG AC, Cruise, etc. I only say this for technical control and electrical support issues that may arise.

Recommendations and opinions are always appreciated and yes that company looks like they know what they are doing for the Chev to Jeep conversions.
A little related but a hijack as this post talks about what is said below - has anyone heard rumblings about the EPA coming down on conversions, modifications etc. On one other forum I read that this was the case where they are thinking about stopping everything from modified offroad only vehicles (track, baja etc) from even being built unless they were factory made and tested (WTF do you find one of those). And they wrote that the EPA wants to go right down to exhaust changes from stock. Almost like they want CARB compliance across the entire country and across all interests. And these ideas break into our interests for a lot of users of this forum. Just throwing it out there because the last time this happened it was the EPA picking on my Dodge tuner supplier - Smarty. I wanted to upgrade from the Smarty Junior for my RAM 3500 2007 5.9 Diesel and they informed me they could not supply as there would be an EPA fine to them of $150k for each case of "breaking the rules". Smarty and others were simply left with engine monitors only according to the owner unless it reverted back under Donald Trump administration.

Quick update
So I did hear back from a couple of guys at Motech, including Robbie. they are just slammed at the moment, and I don't blame him, I would rather be working on my jeep than answering emails. I got my kit ordered last week, picked up my 2014 L96 6.0 with 100K miles on it, and found a 6l80 trans that's currently being rebuilt. I pulled the engine/trans/transfer case this weekend, and I'm going to start cleaning things up and painting so I can get ready to drop the new engine in as soon as parts show up. I am concerned that it may be more of a wait than I was hoping for to get the Motech parts, but not a lot I can do about that. on a side note, I know that the stock L98 6.0 is rated at 360HP and 380 ft pounds Torque, but does anyone know what those numbers are with the 6.2 tune that Motech sets them up with?
