Mine aren't too bad when it snows, but when I wheel in the winter the water freezes on them solid ice.....

I got the 10A enhanced rock rails. I only use them when washing the top. Wife and daughter use them to go in and out.

I use the plastic Jeep steps, the ones with the diamond plate print. My Jeep is lifted about 3 inches so the steps are handy for everyday driving getting in and getting out. Also handy when I'm pulling the T-Tops of my Freedom Hard Top.

I also have webbing straps attached to the roll bars for the rear doors so that my 6 & 8 yr old daughters can literally "climb in" my Jeep.

When I hit Rausch Creek in the summer, I swap out my plastic steps for a set of Jeep Rubicon Rock Sliders I bought from a JK Forum member for $200 free ship. With the rock sliders on, I plant my foot on the bottom of the door jam and haul myself up with a set of roll bar handles.

For my girls they look like they are mountain climbing into the Jeep.

The Rubicon rock sliders have held up really well to black trails I've rode at Rausch. I snapped a plastic step about 4 years ago my first trip to Rausch Creek as I was bone stock back then. Got a free replacement off another Forum member.

I painted mine with brush on bedliner so they provide awesome traction in all weather conditions except for freezing rain/ ice. I don't think any amount of traction could help in that scenario however.
