X2. Great tire. I was nervous about getting an E-rated until I rode with a buddy who has em. Can't tell different between those and stocker BFGs.

Same tire for me and I run 35 psi also. I dont think they ride bad on the road. Its a mud tire and a little loud after 65mph, but actually pretty smooth and that psi seems to work really well. I admit, a good all terrain would be better for the little off road play I do, but better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it, right. But seriously, they are actually pretty smooth on the road with my stock Rubi suspension.

i run 37 inch e rated toyos and 39 inch bfg krawlers and love them both...i have also run both the nitto mud and trail grapplers..i do a lot of the more extreme trails and a lot of rock crawling and have never had a tire failure due to sidewall damage to date..running beadlocks i usually run between 6 to 12 psi on the trail and 26 to 30 on the street...

Ran some trail grapplers 10ply e rated (285/65/18) went to a 4 ply terra grappler (285/70/17) and I am extremely pleased. This is my DD and the mileage and ride from the Trail G's was not worth looking cool. Very glad I made the switch. If your jeep will see very little trail time, I'd suggest going with a more street friendly A/T tire.

Yup, there's often a 10lb or more difference in weight on an E rated tire versus a standard or C tire. Your mpg, acceleration and braking will suffer but it's all in what your looking for.

Sorry to hijack but here's my dilemma
If I change from E load 265/70/17 (stiff small side wall) to a 285/70/17 D load rated Duratrac with only a 2 ply sidewall ( lighter and slightly larger sidewall) will I notice the difference?

I think that your jeep will ride considerably better.
