i like the expedition one bumper becuase it open with the tailgate and i know you can get the geri can mounts for it but i also like the rack above the spare tire on the LOD. can you get something like that with the expedition one?

Not yet, but it is supposed to have its grand unveiling at EJS, so about another week and we should see it.

ok this might be a stupid question... but do those back bumpers with or without the tire carrier have hitches built in ?? like do you need a tow package before this or can you just strap on a bumper put on a tow ball and go...

What are those hitches rated for ? how strong ?

I dont think any company puts a rating on the hitch on the Bumpers. They dont want to be liable

The Hanson has a built in tow hitch it isn't DOT rated, but I have pulled my 20' boat that ways 2700lbs unloaded with mine and I just bought a Starcraft tent trailer to pull behind it all summer. We leave it up to the individual to use their bumper however they please but they are DOT approved to pull on the highway but I do it all the time. I personally feel that the Hanson Bumper is very capable.
