Thanks for all the help guys!! I think I'm going to go with 37"s but I have to wait another 10 days before I can afford the lift. I have everything to put 35s on it NOW so its tempting but I don't wan to regret it and yearn for more for a year or so. I'm considering buying the Rancho kit and powdercoating it myself but I can't decide what color. I can get the red kit from them but that's alot of red parts. I like the grey parts on RE kits but there are components on the Rancho that are worth having over the RE kits.

Don't all of you flawg me at once but what would you think about the suspension parts being chrome? I have a powdercoating machine and chromer so options are limitless. I just don't want black because you can't see all those nice new parts. I can't decide if chrome arms would be REALLY GAY or kind of sweet........any opinions? What about other colors? I can do a platinum finish that might be nice but its not too far off the grey that RE offers.

My Bushwhacker fender flares that I have sitting here is one of the main reasons I really don't want to go with 35"s anymore........they will look smaller with those big fenders.

So should I get 12.5" or 13.5" tires? With the Rancho kit will I need wheel spacers? The answer to this question will dictate my tire width choice. I don't want them to stick out real far........I want it to look nice, not gawdy and huge.

Again, thanks for the help,

Snatch

Okay- to answer questions:

Yes, Chrome would look gay. What color is your Jeep?

12.5 tires would be my choice - I look of them more than the fatter tires. Ore militant, if you ask me.

You will need a maximum of 4.5" backspacing. If you use 1.5" spacers, that would be good for the factory rim, but I don't know if 37's on the factory rim would be a great idea.

One thing I was hoping this thread would mention is how they like driving with their 37's after driving with 35's. Does it handle significantly different? Any severe adverse effects? Does it suck driving on 37's for daily use?

Thanks! Yeah, I thought chrome would look gay too but couldn't picture it.....nuff about that. Your questions are good and I would like to know the same thing since I will be driving it on the road about 80% of the time.

The Jeep is Black and I have painted black Bushwhacker fenders. AEV bumper.

I would like to know how 37s handle without long arm suspension should I take the advise here and add a spacer later if I go with 35s now. This is my main concern for sure........I've read the "skateboard effect" which sounds horrible so if I went 37s it would be long arm for sure unless some people will chime in and tell us how their jeep with spacer lifts on 37s handle on the road????

While a long arm kit may be better if you have the cash to do it. I think the important thing is to get a kit with adjustable front control arms (upper OR lower) to dial in castor, and an adjustable front track bar to center the axle. The Jeep doesn't drive that much differently with 37's than 35's.

Thanks Renegade,

I know which kit I would buy if I went long arm but what is the best kit for short arm? RE makes a "super flex" kit for like $1600.......would that do everything I would want should I decide to go from 35 to 37?

100dollarman is running 37's with a couple of coil spacers and a 3"Full Traction lift.

That is going to be a personal opinion question. Since I don't have any personal experience with that lift, I probably shouldn't really comment on whether or not it will fit your needs. If it were my decision to make, I would probably look real hard at RE, Teraflex, and Rock Krawler. Since Full Traction doesn't have a 4" kit out yet I left them off the list. I personally don't like Rancho, but that's just me. They may be fine. I always liked how Skyjacker kits rode, but had to deal with sagging springs. There are others you may want to consider as well, but ultimately it's a decision YOU have to make. Good luck.

Thanks Renegade, I WISH I COULD make the decision myself. I wouldn't be here asking if I knew enough to make an informed decision. Correct me if I'm wrong, but with the Bushwhacker flares, I SHOULD be able to get 37s under it with a 3.5" lift?? The shop just called.....EVERYTHING is there, just the kit remains........ughh!

I don't know about that. Hopefully someone who has them will chime in.

Do you guys really think that 1" extra in ground clearence is going to make that big of difference.. Just asking.. I've ran both 35's and 40's on TJ's.. 40's made everthing way to easy... 35's seem to work great.. More of just a matter of picking your correct line... I think 37's is more of an apperance thing... JMO........
