Default where do you measure lift?

Where is best place to measure how much lift you have? Top of axle to frame, if so can someone chime in with stock measurements for stock jeep! Maybe, top of axle to upper coil perch?

I have none of those points but if i recall the top of factory axle tube to the frame is like 5" i believe stock up front.
