I also want to add to make sure the spacers are hub centric so the weight of the wheel is on the hub and not the lugs

Check out Bullet Proof Offroad. About the best adapters I've seen. Hub centric and lug centric. Popular among the guys running diesel trucks and towing heavy loads.

I'm looking at going 35x12.5x17 with a 2.5" lift, and yes I will be doing gears as well with the bigger tires.
Thanks in advance for sharing your knowlegde.
Just installed Poison Spyder 1.5" spacers today. Used a small drop of red loctite on each lug and torqued to 100 lbs.

I have had a set of ruff country spacers on my jeep for over two years and around 60000 miles with no issues.

Sorry, wrong terminology.
wheel adapters, with same 5x5 lug pattern. 1.25", made by Allpro, $88 for 4, blue locktite, torqued to 95#. checked at 1000 miles, and didn't budge.

If you choose 1.25", pay attention to the steps/cautions in the install guide. Some wheel studs have been found to be a bit too long and need to be trimmed for proper installation of the adapters.

I put 36k miles on a set of 1.5" Spidertacs with no issue.

I put Precision European Motorwerks on my wife's Jeep. Researched the heck out of adaptors before doing so. Proper, Hun centric installation, with proper torgue, locktite, and NO IMPACT WRENCHES EVER, occational retorquing, you are good to go. The 1.25" I have, the lugs do not protrude past them, but noticed if they had, that the stock wheels have space for those protrusions.

Hubcentric wheel spacers. I've used them on a track car. I've used them offroad on my last 4x4. I use them on my current rig.

If you have a hubcentric spacer that bolts onto your OEM hub then it's just fine. What you want to avoid is a cheap generic "spacer" off the shelf at the local auto parts store that doesn't use it's own bolts in which to attach your wheel to. If you use something like that, all you are doing is effectively shortening your OEM bolts which doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that those aren't smart.

Your wheel bearings are fine. Your axle is fine. Everything is fine.

Thanks for all the info. I'll take it all into consideration in this build process of my jeep!
