Wheel spacers, any long term feedack?

Hey guys, again thank you for the replies so far. I am sure any information passed in the thread will benefit many of the members in the future.
I just placed my order with Spidertrax for 1.5" spacers.

Keep on peddling those wheel spacers!!!! I've been running 4.5 inches of back spacing on the 6 combinations of YJ's, XJ's, TJ's, and now the JK for the 20 years I've been wheeling and I know I've never had any problems. The simple formula is to increase to 4.5 inches of back spacing with a new wheel and your good w/ no tire rub. I also know that if you increase the distance between the hub and the load bearing surface of the wheel where the wheel is supposed to clamp to the hub you increase wheel stress. I also know that by increasing the distance in any manner of the center of the wheel from the hub increases stress. So if you are increasing stress on the hub why wouldn't you want to mitigate other stress if possible. It's a free country. Do what you want. That' why I stated in my opinion!!!!

I'm looking at the option of fitting spacers to my Jk 4dr, basicly because the price of shipping new JK rims to Australia is atronomical.
I'm gettting a dealer fitted 2-2.5 inch lift (whatever ARB come up with) from the dealer, and after I get a few kilometres out of the factory tyres I intend to fit 33 coopers onto the factory 16inch alloys.
I will buy spidertrax spacers as I want reliability given I do 40,000kms+ a year, will 1.5 inch be enough?

LOL I love reading things like these posts where someone actualy thinks that it's worse (more leverage) to run a spacer than a after market wheel. back spacing is back spacing IT DOS'NT MATTER HOW YOU GET IT either in a spacer or wheel the point's of stress are still the same. now the only down fall I can see with running a spacer is, well it's just another part that "can" fail. but like has been mentioned already in this post properly installed and retorqued and checked you'll be fine.
I've got over 3,000 miles on my spacers without a problem and there are some off road miles and long trip miles in that number....oh yea one more thing they are "no name" spacers, at the time they were the only ones I could find (got them from Off Road Evolution) which are either a 5 on 5 spacer or a 4.5 to 5 adapter so there are more holes in them than the spidertrax ones....

Like I said before with 4.5 no tire I have ever run on any of my jeeps has had a rub issue. I've run everything from 31's to 37's and had no issues. If you want to run spacers fine but don't attack me for stating an opinion based on a belief structure founded in science. You are right the .25 inch difference is nominal when calculating the increase in stress. Get off my back. Agree to disagree on this point. I haven't said that people who run spacers are stupid or cheap so I'm having trouble understanding the nature of your hostility toward me. Run em if ya got 'em.
