So...how far will they stick out past the fender lips? I know...but by my calculation, if I did it right, about an inch.

How wide are your wheels? Your calculations are probably very close. I have a setup similar to his and mine only stick out about that distance.

That would be incorrect......a 9" wide wheel with 4.5" backspacing, would have a -12 offset. People, look at the link that I provided, I didn't do it for my health. It's to help you guys out with getting the backspacing and offset that you need. The offset changes with the width of the wheel. While a -12 offset on a 9" wide wheel means it has 4.5" of backspacing, an 8" wheel with a -12 offset, will have 4 inches of backspacing. Please look at the link that I have provided. Here it is for the third time..............

Are the wheels a +10 or a -10 offset? My guess is that they are a +10, if so, you will be running close to 5.5" of backspacing, you might have clearance issues. If they end up being a -10 offset, you will me at the magic nuber of 4.5" off backspacing and should be great. FYI, I'm running an 18x8.5 that has a +12 offset, 5.25" of backspacing and I haven't had any rubbing issues.

+10 Unfortunately, I can't contact Hillant who has this same set up! Company claims in an 18 inch wheel they only have the one offset. This is what they look like on his.

Has anyone noticed that the difference of 0 offset and -12 offset is because rim width is measured from the inside bead for the -12 offset?

Based on that the original assumtion that the 17X7.5 has a 2.5" offset and a 6.25" BS would be wrong.

Also, the stock tire is 10.5" wide not 10" wide.

So how is rim width measured BLKRUBI, from the inside of the bead or the outside????
