Default wheel info request

ok ok, i know its probably been covered to death but i need some definate answers. i am interested in getting some krager wheels but the 17x9 wheels i was looking at only come in 5in backspacing which i have heard are not a good fit. then i was looking at the krager soft 8 wheels in black, will these even work with an 08 jk?? anyone have either of these wheels?? post up some info and pics if so. im new to the jeep world and dont want to end up with alot of headache by getting the wrong equipment. i am going to be installing a 3" teraflex lift soon and running 35" tires. sorry if this has been beaten to death already, just looking for some good help

You didn't give enough info to tell.

JK's use oem BS of 6.25"...if your new 35's are going to be about 12.5's, then you'd want the new rims to have about 1.5" less BS.

Th JK's use a 5 on 5 bolt pattern.

Hope that helps you to narrow your search a bit.

i am interested mostly in the 17x9" wheels but would settle for 15" wheels since it is easier to find tires for a 15' wheel it seems. i am mostly wondering about the backspacing on these wheels. like i said, i dont wanna buy something and it end up not being right!!!

Not too many of us hanging around here on Christmas day!

For 35 x 12.50 tires , I got ProComp wheels that are 17 x 9 with 4.75 backspacing - exactly the specs that Teej lists, and they are perfect.

Can't comment on how the Cragars with b/s of 5.0 would be but both of the wheels you show state they are for the JK.

Yeah - the 5 0n 5" in 4.5 - 4.75" BS would be good in 16" or larger. Some people ground part of their brakes off to clear 15" rims...but, if you want to leave your brakes intact...go 16" or larger.

As far as 7-9" rim widths....stock is 7.5"....If shooting for around a 12.5" section width tire, you can use a rim in any of that width range....wider for better street handling, narrower for better off road wrap, etc. If you think you might want to go wider than 12.5" section width tires someday...go to the wider end too.

If you went with the 3.75" BS rim, it would stick out past the fender pretty bad, and probably fail inspection in most states/spray the guy behind you with road spray, etc.
