Default What's this part?

I'm hoping to attach a piece of thin angle iron to this piece (to make a shelf to sit my solenoid on). What is it, and can I drill 2 small sheet metal screws into it ? Looks to be aluminum, just behind the windshield washer fluid reservoir, and behind it are a few wiring harnesses.

Looked too good to be true. JB weld, Power Grab, or Gorilla glue will have to suffice. Thanks for helping me avoid a stupid And costly mistake.

Thanks Blade. I had the Dewalt battery on 95% charge and climbing.
