Also live in Michigan, bumpers so many to chose from. I went with a Warn elite bumper and used my stock fog lights.
I got free shipping and that dam good it weighs 100lbs.
I went this way mostly because of how my Warn winch fits in it so well.Click image for larger version

Here are some pics (note the skid plate was not mounted when these were taken):
I would have to say this is my favourite one. Any chance they have it in a stubby version? It looks like those are caps at the ends so can those be removed?

Yes, they have a stubby version. End caps are not removable. Hit up Chris at JeepAdOns. He is our forum sponsor and will give you great pricing.

Well for mud(correct me if I'm wrong) staying as light as possible is better. I would look for light and strong so when you have, and use a winch there are no worries. Well designed full width bumpers have lots of lighting, recovery, and jacking points. With a full width bumper you get better aero dynamics, but a little more weight, and the opposite with stubbies. And you also have options to purchase aluminum bumpers wich cut a lot of weight look good, and are plenty strong, but to you I think most important, will not rust. So I would just think about all your options, and understand what this investment will need to do for you. Rust, strength, winch, lighting, recovery points, weight, ect.......

Default bumper

What's the best bumper ? mine! I'm not going to mention the name because everybody is going to tell you that theirs is the best . I will say it depends on what you are going to do with it. I saw an OR Fab here that the guy says he loves his bumper , but I hate the stinger sticking out , and wonder if he ever even goes wheeling. I also don't like no provisions for lights unless you drill holes and add them to the top of the bumper , and I can't tell if the winch mount is lowered , for lower center of gravity .You have to be pretty much pointing straight down for that stinger to help you from endoing , meanwhile it sticks out like a sore thumb. I do alot of rock crawling in my two jeeps , and live fairly close to the Rubicon , so for me , I like a shorty bumper so I don't hit rocks with it and it gives me more access to the tires with no bumper in the way. I also like my factory fog light to fit right in the bumper , and not at the very ends of a full width bumper where I will most likely break them on rocks. I also look for a lower winch mount whereas the winch doesn't impede air flow to the radiator , and puts the center of gravity at it's lowest point. Noticce how the Lod armor light bumper mounts the winch so high , it blocks almost half of the radiator? There is my two cents , good luck .

Yeah I go wheeling with my stinger, your little blow leads me to be curious of why you stated that. Care to elaborate
