How 'bout them 15 valve-stem wheels on page 3. I'll bet that every one of them has a TPM too!

It isn't the momentum of steel wheels that brake axles... its the sudden stop of a wheel regardless of type. One of my favorite projects was redisigning the yoke on the V-22 Osprey. The yoke controlled the shift in power from one prop to the other in the event that an engine failed. That was one of the few times I've witnessed where momentum could snap a drive shaft or yoke in this case with out a second thought.

The weight difference between the stock tires and new tires don't really add to the equation. It's the sudden hault that does the trick.

For momentum to play a role an axle must brake simply by transfering power from one wheel to another.

Straight from the 2008 Jeep Wrangler Accessories brochure (link elsewhere in this thread), page 11:

Winter/off-road Wheel. give your
premium wheels the winter off. This durable,
17-inch Black steel replacement wheel is a
rugged and reliable bad weather alternative
and great for any off-road adventure. Using
these wheels during the winter keeps your
premium wheels in top condition.

I wouldn't just find another dealer - your old one will continue to screw people unless confronted with facts. Just MHO.

Thanks for all the responses it helps out a lot when there are people to confirm or discredit so I can sift through my dealers bull I was kinda hoping to go with the steelies for now for price and not being a lot of cheaper black wheels out there right now that I like. Every time I find one boom don't come in my size or $$ here are a couple that I do like so far are the PC 8179, and 7089. Looks like I'm going to have to do some searching for a new dealership around that will do a lift for me, if not I might have to eat it and say mmm
