That's false. Tire manufacture specs might say that. But those are based on 50 psi or whatever. No issues with 12.5" on 7.5", 1000's of people run em

As kh202 said, lots of people are running them on stock rims without issue. You should check with your tire shop though. All tires have a recommended rim width range, and some shops will not mount them on narrow rims. Other shops will not mount or rotate if you have wheel spacers installed. Just a heads up to do some checking to avoid a possible headache.

if you're really looking to save a few bucks take a look at treadwright tires, their Guard dog tire is almost a direct copy of the old Goodyear MTR and I know there are folks on here who run them with no issues, you can pick up a set of 5 for well under a grand! Also, I noticed you said you're getting the TF steering stabilizer kit, is yours bad? If not I think you'll find no real difference between the stock and the tf unit. Just my 2cents.

A big X2. I have been running mine on stock for a long time and never an issue.

I concur staying with a 10-11.5 inch wide tire.

As many have said the 35x12.5 work perfectly fine on 7.5" wide rims and work great when you air down. So it really comes down to your preference for appearance. I prefer the proportional look over the sutffed or roller skate look so IMO the 35's are a perfect match for a 3-3.5" lift. If you are going with a 2.5"lift the 305s might look better. The difference in clearance is minimal.

Another factor to consider is price and load rating. Some sizes are not as common so they are more expensive and some have very high load ratings so they are stiffer.
