Is the price difference because the 285/75r17 has more sidewall?
Not sure why it costs more man, probably just not as common a size.

Today I got quoted on 295/70r17 and 285/70r17 grapplers. They are essentially the same price.. five 295's will run me $1,628 and the 285's will run $1,623. This includes mounting and balancing but doesn't include tax. Spacers will probably run me another $200.

I am just stuck on which one to go with especially since they are the same price. Some things going through my mind are what wheel spacers to go with as well. I know spidertrax are referenced a lot but any others out there I should look at?

I like the look of the tires coming out past the fenders a little bit so I'm wondering if this would be a reason to go with the 295's but would it even be much more noticeable?

I also will be okay with just spacers and no lift correct?

Thanks for the help guys and if anyone is running a similar set up some pics would help!

Yes you will be just fine with 295/70/17 tires and spacers. I ran 285/70/17 with no lift and 1.5" spacers for along time.

You can get 4x 1.5" spacers from Rough Country for $118 shipped to your door if you PM or call them. I've been running mine for over a year with absolutely no problems. I check them to make sure they're tight at every oil change/ tire rotation every 3k miles, and not a single one has loosened up.

Better than paying $200+ for Spidertrax wheel spacers, when the only thing different is color.

You should be able to do a little better than that on price. Shop around.

Here's some pics of 285/70/17 BFG A/T KO on stock wheels and 1.5" spacers:

They didn't stick out as much as I wanted.

Definitely choose the 295/70/17, you'll like them more. Even if it's just the thought that matters.

I like your jeep, thanks for the pics. I wonder what the weight difference is between the two. I imagine it can't be much. Have you ever thought about thicker spacers?

Went ahead and ordered five 285/70r17 Nitto Trail Grapplers from DTD today. Should get delivered by the end of the week. Was happy with the pricing after having been shopping around. The only other place that had them cheaper per tire was onlinetires but with their shipping rates it was better to go with DTD with free shipping.
