Cooper makes a tire called an ST MAXX. It looks a lot like the duracraps, but it has a stiff sidewall and won't let you down on the rocks. They are also cheaper.

If you want a effective and quiet MT, look at the Mastercraft MXT's. Great tire, my preferred tire. If you search, there is a write up about them.

Somewhere around that. I use my Jeep off road, so change tires well before reaching treadware indicators (which are for usage on paved roads).

Schrockworks. Great bumper, but not for anyone in a hurry. Think weeks, even months, to receive.

(my folks own a goodyear and i hear nothing but horror stories about duratrac offroad on rocks)
Duratracs are a great general purpose tire for road and for off highway travel. Excellent in sand and snow. Very good on pavement, wet or dry. About as good as any tire on ice. Okay on rocks. Poor on mud. If anyone wants to see Duratracs used off road, feel free to check out my videos on DigitalByDoiron. Many of the other Jeeps you see are also running Duratracs.

I knew you would take offense to that ... but I posted it anyways.

I've been very happy with my BFG A/T's. Not loud, handle well, long tread life, and strong sidewalls for off roading.

I'd look at the KO2's if they're in your budget.

Since you're bringing up Prius, which AT will get the best mpg?
