Well, some people will tell you that a 2.5" with 35s will work. I guess it depends on what tires you go with, what lift you go with..etc. When I had the TF 2.5" lift with my 35" Toyos, yes, I rubbed. Now, you could always go that route and cut your fenders but if you want to leave the fenders the way they are, with that set up, I would still suggest 3" of lift.
Just differing opinions or ?
I was planning on a 2.5 " TF lift kit with shocks, TF adj. front trackbar, TF adj. front lca's, TF c-gussets, TF steering stabilizer... I mean I was planning on putting in quite a bit parts anyways.... the only thing I really was trying to avoid is any replacement of driveshafts.... I only do some light trails and mud trails for the most part when i am offroad but mostly just pavement driving... so I had hoped that by sticking to 2.5" of lift I could avoid that with 35's. Was planning on a superchips and gears at some point as well I suppose.
Should I just do that 3" lift then instead and hope for the best, lol. I have a 2 dr, 6 speed if it matters. Just trying to make a plan before I start and save up accordingly so im not doing double parts!

Attachment 124036Nope been running 35s on stock everything for over a year. No problems at all. Again- the only thing you really need is wheels with 4.5> backspacing. I will say I havent went really hard offroad with it. It of course isnt going to have the flex of a four inch lift, it'll have the flex of a stock suspension. But to answer the question of TOP, you dont NEED a lift to run 35s.

I also dont understand why anyone would put up with the ride quality of 35s if u dont plan to off road at least a little bit.
Its obvious u have done no offroading with ur jeep or else u wouldnt be telling someone to run 35s with no lift completely stock. I just want to make sure this guy doesnt rely on ur advice and get his fenders ripped off and his tires ripped to shit on the pinch seam when he takes his rig on a seasonal use road or hits a large speedbump at the mall.

I cut my fender flares about a week ago. I am in desperate need of new tires. I want the 35's now but I can afford the tires now but not the lift as well. In a month or so I will get a TF 2.5" coil lift. With the Fenders chopped and pinch seam cut back could I run the 35s for a month or so with no problems if I do not go off road? The lift will come though in a month Ish..

What size wheels are you running? Factory wheels without spacers? IMHO No! If you have other than factory wheels with at least 4.5" backspacing then you can "get by" for a short time.

I have 17" with 4.5" backspacing wheels. So I could get away with a month or so without the lift? Thanks so much...
