I've been satisfied with the Fox 2.0 remote res shocks, ran Bilstein 5100's before. For me the Bilsteins felt smoother on road but I really like the Fox off.

Same feel as the 5100's according to northridge4x4, though you get the reservoir benefits of less fade, cooler running shock with a little more sensitive dampening.

Good thing I didn't spend the money on them. I just looking for the best shocks I can get for under 1000 bucks.

Under 1000? Damn. Look at the fox factory performance shocks then. Supposed to a race shock that rides ultra smooth on and off road.

Re-valved for your specific coils, you'll enjoy either shock.
From 1 to 10, I'd give the Fox 10, and the King 11...

I chose the Fox w/ reservoirs for long drives in hot desert temperatures. They don't get warmer than ambient temp'.

We may want different valving for road or offroad.
Some shocks allow that, such as the Fox -- Link:

My WJ sits on a 3" OME/ARB lift with 5100s on all four corners. I load it down with adults, cloths, gear and beer, hook up a heavy steel trailer, and a nose-heavy JK on 37s with...wait for it...5100s as well. After a few hours at 65mph that felt like I was riding on air- I unloaded and proceded to make shit look easy in a WJ on 31s. Unless you have a shock tuning guru and or a shock valving dyno, why bother with adjustables? Are you racing in Jeep Speed or SCORE? Know what happens on real drivers with adjustable chocks? The knobs seize up.
