I'm choppin my fenders today and am wondering what saw is best to cut with. I've seen most people have used a reciprocating saw. I don't plan on putting door trim on the edges so would like something that doesn't chew up the plastic too bad. May be wishful thinking. Anyways, just wanna hear some ideas.

If you have access to an air powered cut off wheel that works good. As far as not chewing up the plastic when cutting. If you are not putting a molding strip over the edge then your just going to have to spend a while cleaning up the edges.

I'll eventually put trim around it when I raptor line the fenders. Figured I'd have to spend a few hours filing to make them look decent. Thanks for the input.

As BigSteve stated above, a pneumatic cut off wheel for the straights & reciprocating saw for the curves. Then clean it up with a fine file, it'll turn out pretty good without any trim.

Belt sander to smooth the cut edges.

I used a sawzall with a fine tooth blade. It worked good then I took sand paper to the edges to knock off any burs. I havnt put trim in yet bc I want to go a little narrower.

Tin snips work great and are easier to use then a power tool.

When I first tried on an old, no good flare, the air powered tools were overkill... actually ended up melting the flare more as supposed to cutting. I just used a DeWalt reciprocating saw. An extra person to hold while you cut is key, and taking them off the jeep as well. Just my advice.
