I used the chalk test on my first set of 37x12.50 17" Goodyear MT/Rs and ran 28 lbs on the highway. While it drove and seemingly handled well, only the outside edge of the tires wore abnormally. To me it looks like the sidewalls flex/twist significantly during turns, effectively placing more load on the outside edge. I jumped to 35 lbs, but drivability suffered.

So far it appears that for my JKU as equipped, 32 lbs is going to be the best highway pressure compromise for tire longevity vs driveability.

KO2s 35-12.50-17 on light 2dr . Best ride was 27-28 but it tends to wander on the road. I went up a couple pounds and the ride is a littler stiffer but it removed most of the wandering effect.

The mastercraft courser mxts I'm running now, the shop that put them on three weeks ago aired them to 35. Psi and they feel great so I haven't messed with them.

It's pretty straight forward. If you google tire chalk test you will get multiple videos that demonstrate the procedure.

Happy Jeeping!

28psi max on bfg 12.50 width tires. Even tire wear across foot print of tire. Any higher on the psi the middle wears out quick
