what modification needed for lager tires
Attachment 92002Attachment 92003Attachment 92002Hi everyone i have been thinking about putting larger tires on my 07 4 door wrangler x such as 36 or 37 inch tires. as of now i have 33" Baja claw tire that are almost done with a 2.5" rough country spacer lift, that i just found out that the shocks are blown so this is a good time to do this project. i have wanted to to this but was unsure about what i would have to do to my jeep so that the larger tires would work, be safe and not be a sled when i drive it. if i can get help and ideas about what is needed such as do i need a new lift, gears or any other mods that you can think of would be great. i am also thinking about putting lockers in the front and rear.

There are alot great threads here that show how others have installed 37's using minimal lift, like yours. Do a quick forum search, that's what helped me when I was looking for info on 37's.
I've installed 37's on a 2010 Rubi using stock Rubi wheels. Got a 4" Pro Comp lift, 1.5" wheel spacers & 37x12.50/R17 MT/R's with Bushwacker Flat Fenders. The flat fenders give a huge amount of tire clearance, but you will still need to trim the rock rails (if equipped) by 2.5" & trim the pinch seams/fender wells for the rear tires. I've trim my pinch seams, but still could trim more for additional clearance under full stuff.
If you're still using the stock front bumper, you'll likely have to trim it to clear the front tires for 37's. I see Quadratec has an aftermarket mod for stock front bumpers to give clearance. I replaced the stock front bumper with a stubby, so no rubbing issues at all.

well i got 35" pro comp A/T i think that i should be ok as far as mods to make them work. i have a 2.5" spacer lift i hope that will be enough for now and then i will get a 3.5 spring lift and new flat fenders.
