I've been eyeing the new Rugged Ridge bumpers and they look pretty sharp. Not as sharp as the AEV. But around $500 hooked-up, not bad. Plus they have a place for my factory fogs.
So what makes the AEV so much better??? $1000 better???
I know AEV is a great company. Heck they even built a couple of my rescue trucks. But really, $1700.... I dunno.

I bought the Rampage(same as Rooster's). $667 shipped with shackles, winchplate, and optional fogs. By the time you ship most similar bumpers, they are almost a thousand more.

I think that rampage bumper looks sweet thats the one I'm putting on my wish list. I think I've seen them for $500 plus shipping and might be a mistake but even as low as $369 plus shipping

Its one of those things that's going to be different for everyone...
I to like the looks of an AEV bumper. From the little I've seen of them they have good angles and compliment the JK very much. They Also appear to be well designed and constructed.
I think something that is very overlook in all of these categories is what goes into making each bumper and where its made. AEV's stuff is all made in the U.S.A. as far as I know... Were as many other companies have outsourced there stuff... Not sure if Rugged ridge is one of those companies or not, but IMO its something to keep in mind.

I've looked at most of the bumpers out there and AEV just seems to be such a good quality item. I know they are expensive, but just like all of their products - they just seem to go with the JK. The sales team at AEV is very responsive and know their product inside out.

nothing in my mind makes the bumper worth that much. There are way to many nice bumpers for half the price of this one and that just leaves money for other mods like a winch or rock rails etc...
