What gears - have 33's want to go to 35's
I'm curious what gear ratio I should go with. I have a 2009 Automatic 4 door rubicon with the 4.10 gears and currently have Toyo MT 33's with only 3000 miles. I would like to do my gears before I put 35's on so I'm curious what gears you would get with the plan to switch to 35's once the tread on the 33's is no good? I imagine I'll have the 33's for a couple years at least. I see some people go with 5.10's and 5.38's for 35's, but would that be too much with my current 33's?

This is from the FAQ section.
Q: What gear ratio should I be running with 35" tires?
A: In order to bring your Jeep's performance back to stock, you will need to run 4.88 gears with 35" tires. However, if you are looking for a little extra power, you should consider getting 5.13's. This is especially desirable if you have an automatic
Imo, if you have an auto , you'll love the 5.13's with 33's or 35's. My 35's are worn down to 33.5 and it's just fine. If you have a stick, you may want 4.88's

How do you like the 4.1's with the 33's? If you like them, then I say 4.88. If you find your self looking for a little more power in the low end now, I'd bump it up to 5.13 for 35's.

My only reason for wanting to regear early is camping trips... hauling 2-3 people, 2 dogs, and sometimes pulling a little cargo trailer. Going up those hills is a real PITA! ... with my 4.10's and 33's that is. I find my Jeep constantly downshifting and hitting 4500 rpms etc.
I'd like to be able to stay in OD comfortably while going up and down the mountains at around 65-70mph.
Anyway, ya I might just hold onto the money and wait till I need to replace tires. Perhaps I could just settle for a flashpaq for now.
