Running factory 4.10s with 315/70R17 Goodyear Duratracs and it's just fine for me..... I ran 37s on factory 3.73s in my old Sahara and it was sluggish but bearable.

I ran 5:13 on 35's/auto. What is nice is if you decide to go to 37's like I just did, you won't notice much of a difference.

4:88 worked wonders for my 2011 JKU auto.

I appreciate all the input. I think I'm leaning towards 4:88s I still want to be able to cruise at 80 on the freeway. That's the speed limit between Vegas and SLC. I'm not set yet so if anyone thinks that is a mistake let me know. The more input the better decision I can make.

This question is asked daily. There are about a thousand other threads to read through. A few searches should bring up more than you have time to open.

And when you are reading the replies, remember that autos and manuals have different gearing needs, and 3.8's and 3.6's have different gearing needs. Just a heads up to not get too side-tracked by all of the comments from people with different transmissions and different engines!

I have 4.10 (stock) on 35" Wrangler MT/Rs with Kevlar and an auto transmission. I've been like that for two and a half years. I've also planned on going to 5.13 for a while. One of these days I'll knock it out.

I'm perfectly happy with the 4.10 gears and 6-speed manual in my 2010 JKUR.

I'm sitting on 3.25" lift, 35" mud grapplers and running 3.73 gears (manual) and it drives great 2011 2dr sport.

I'm running 3.73's with a 98 lbs of Wheel and tire that measure 34.5" with 26PSI. The Jeep Runs like a race car, fast off the line in the street and great crawling in the trails. Alot of the time on light trails 2wd is good enough. I'm still getting around 17 MPG around town and 20 on State roads that dont exceed 55 MPH
