Default What fluid do I use with psc steering?

I have a psc hydro assist kit that I'm installing, and the instructions just say power steering fluid. There seems to be many different kinds of power steering fluid at the automotive centers so which one do I use? Also what level do you fill the new psc reservoir to? There doesn't seem to be any markings on or in the reservoir. Thanks in advance for any info you may be able to provide.

I used royal purple. My instructions said only power steering fluid. No atf and no blends. I filled the reservoir to between the nut for the filter, and the lip towards the top below the threads. Ran vent line behind battery.

atf +4 should be used in the factory steering system ONLY. you NEED to use power steering fluid in a PSC. atf +4 will ruin your PSC.

Just installed mine the other day, and went with Royal Purple. It tends to get a little hotter in the resevior mounted up above the exhaust manifold, you would probably want something that will hold up to the higher temp I would say.

This is the response I got from psc when asking the same question.

We would prefer to see a synthetic fluid in there but on a JK the factory
ATF+4 won't hurt. *We just don't want the detergents and additives that come
in the old transmission fluids.

After hearing all your responses I'm obviously going with power steering fluid, but its interesting to see what everyone suggests including the manufacturer. I love this forum.

Now I here royal purple is good, but I can't seem to find it anywhere up here (Canada) unless I ship it. So is there another really good brand I should look for?
