What to do...TPMS?????
I ordered tires and wheels online and they will be delivered already mounted and balanced. What I JUST realized is that they will not have TPMS installed. I know I can take them out of my stock tires and transfer them to the new but....
Should I cancel the mounting and balancing and just do everything nearby? Or, is it reasonable (price wise) to have a local shop install them after the fact. Any advice asap would be appreciated...I think I may have time to adjust the order before they do the mounting and balancing.

Will your new tires and wheels have a high enough psi for the sensors? I run my tires at 30 psi, which is not high enough for the TPMS. So even though my tires are fine the stupid sensor goes off everytime I start the jeep. If you are going to be in the same boat then I would recomend just forgetting about the sensors.

to tell you the truth, Im not even sure. Im waiting on 35's so dont know if the darn sensors will go off. In any event, I just called the place I ordered from and spoke to a rep and he agreed that NOT having the tires mounted and balanced for delivery was the best option. No sense in going through this only to have them broken down again to install the TPMS.

Im gonna wing it and see how things go with swapping them out. If it gets too annoying at least I will feel better that I didnt waste money on either buying replacements or having previously mounted and balanced tires broken down after the fact.
Definitely will investigate the pro cal. Im assuming there will be benefit to resetting various engine parameters.

I was having this same debate last week and I went with not putting in my TPMS in the new rims and tires and the dinger doesnt go off very often maybe once a week all of a sudden it will realize that there are no sensors but other than that my Jeep is ding free most days.

Hard to see in the pic, but the same rocks that added some character to the flare snapped the top half of the valve stem off, which also took out the tpms sensor in that wheel.

I'd rather just turn it off than replace them
