Get the new tires and then decide if you need gears.

If you do re-gear, Yes, you need to do both axles. (unless you want to pull the front driveshaft and be permanent 2wd)

Prices vary by location, expect somewhere between $1000 and $1800. That is all parts + labor for both axles. East coast is generally higher, so plan on the upper end of that range.

Also, if you have not found the Faqs yet, they are stickied to the top of this modified area. There is a good Drivetrain area with some good gearing and RPM info

I got my 5.13s from dave at northridge. He gave me a great deal on the package....lol and my cost of labor to have them put in was a case of beer, which after 9hr of the install went pretty fast

Default now im wonderin wha i bought this for if it cant even hold 32 inch tires grrrrrr

so im lookin at like 2000 for gearing and 2000 granf for tires and 2000 grand for wheels and 23000 for jeep maybe ill leave it stock what size tire can i put on without regearing that would look better than 225 75 16 that are on there , ill have to think about trading inin a year or two for rubicon ! i thought a new jeep would be fun! but after seeing how much money goes into it just to go destroy it , im gona think stock and just mall crawl

Just for a point of reference...

I did my wheels AND tires, and together I spent less than $2K, and I'm running 35s.

As far as gears go, my gears (parts & labor) was $1,600.

Just a little FYI that things might not be as expensive as your fearing they are. Hit up our vendors, they can work out awesome deals for you and help you save some $$$
