What am I missing?? BFG M/T tire
Need to get some mud tires... and the BFG seem popular and also used on the Rubi....
I see the Rubi tire 255/75 17 at tirerack.com at $98/each... what am I missing? Seems way too cheap... it mentions "different tread"... anyone know more about tires than I do that can chime in??

I just swapped my Wrangler SRA's for the OE Rubi tires. A great M/T for on and off road. Another thread has a picture of the tread difference, it's minor, one of the center blocks has a "hook" vs. solid on the regular tread.
Yes, the price is reasonable for the great performance.

If it says "different tread pattern", my guess is that it's the All Terrian KO tire vs. the Mud Terrian KM tire that comes on the Rubicon.
The KO is a VERY, VERY good street tire and at $98 they would be a steal - if this is what they are actually selling.

Tire Rack has been doing this pricing on and off for several months now. The $98 tires are the same tread pattern M/T that come stock on the Rubicon, not to be confused with the new KM2 M/Ts. I suspect they might be trying to clearance them or something, it will be intertesting to see if they continue to offer them longterm and use them on the Rubi.
I've been tempted myself but I'm committed to wearing out the stock POS Goodyears, then going bigger than the stock 32's.

a tire dealer near me (Mavis Tire) has been selling the BFG MT OEM Rubi tires for $108 for a while.. little more than tire rack but they are in stock at a local shop.
98 does not surprise me one bit.
I have the Rubi tires and like them very much

I bought my BFG MTs (255/75 17) for $450 delivered to my door. I thought the price was too good to be true also, but I am very pleased now that they are here. I'll be more pleased when Jeep fixes my tranny problems so that I can install them.
