Sliders. Mounted to frame with boat sides. Then bumpers, something light (weight makes stuff break). Then if you are going to wheel more, then truss you axles (Ive bent several stock d-44s on rubi's barely doing anything much). Diff cover is worth it too.

I'd go with the Evo Pro Tek skid plates first. Or some other belly protection. Depending on your budget get some kind of slider or rocker protection. You can find rubicon rails if you have a lower budget and need something. Then look at diff covers.

Don't waste money on replacing perfectly good stock skids. They are actually very strong. All you need is a couple of smaller skids to protect oil pan and maybe evap. I don't understand why people spend $1000 on new skids without beating on their stock ones first.
As for sliders, if you need a step, the LOD sliders are awesome. Frame mounted and flat on top.
