Default What is the actual height of these tires...

Goodyear Duratrac 33X12.5X15

Goodyear MT/R Kevlar 33X12.5X15

BFG KM2 33X12.5X15

I think I am going to get the MB72 wheels to go with the tires. I'm loooking to maximize the tire height without installing a lift kit. I will also be regearing from 3.21 to 4.56. Help me out!

what you need to understand is that "actual" tire height IS NOT what is used when determining how much lift you need or can get away with. EVERY lift or lift amount scenario is based on what is writen on the sidewalls. in other words, all the tires you're looking at can work without installing a lift but, you'll most likely have some rubbing at a full turn and a full flex unless you install 1" spacers or a 1" body lift. that is just the way it is with ANY 33" tire.

having said all that, the BFG's will be the smallest of the 3 and both goodyears will sit at about the same size.

Just got MB Chaos 5's and 33x12.5x15 Duratracs. The tires measure 31.75.

On a side note we ended up with Chaos 5's because the matte black mb72 in 15" was on national backorder with no ETA. Double check availability before getting your heart set on them. The wheels we got weigh the same as the mb72 so it was a good alternative.

Are those wheels good without spacers?

Hard to believe it sound like it sits lower than the stock rubicon MTs.

This is our jeep with the tires and wheels I mentioned. It has a 2" AEV lift on it. The wheels and tires fit fine with no spacer, you can see the tires stick out past the stock flares. I was disappointed in the tire height, only 1" bigger than the stock 17" package we had. But I guess that is the norm when people refer to a 33" tire.

if you were paying attention to what i was saying, they DON'T sit lower than stock rubicon MT's. stock rubicon MT's measure up to about 29.5".

x2, We have to understand that with tires sizes there are advertised sizes (what's written on the side wall of the tire) and the actual tire size when measured (factoring in wheel width & psi)....As an example, the stock 255/75/17 SRAs will be equivalent to a ~32" tire but actual measurement is 29.5". When I upgraded to 35s (315/75/16) the actual measurement was 33.75".....

So to compare the stock JK tires and the 35s, there is a 4.25" height difference as well as a 2.37" width difference. When comparing the two together with the naked eye you can clearly see the 35s are indeed bigger & wider then the stock 255/75/17" tires....
