I'm looking for a light 35" tire. I'm going with a lighter tire because I'm not looking to regear my 07 JK

It is the height and width (mostly height) of the tire that is going to cause the need for re-gearing. Un-sprung weight does have affect on horsepower.

if you want that in an MT, i would recommend getting a BFG as there really are few MT's out there that are lighter.

Check out the Duratracs. I think they were about 60 lbs. each.

Goodyear MT/R kevlar's are surprisingly light.

However, several cheaper A/T type tires are lighter because of thier thinner sidewalls.

Just curious. And since the OP didn't specify (M/T or A/T), what's the lightest 35" A/T.

JP magazine did a comparison on this, see if you can find the write up. I run Duratracs for a similar reason, I found them the lightest and best balanced tire (in terms of use). I know as a mud terrain the MTR-K are one of the lightest as well. The BFG's are close too. As for not regearing throw in weight and rolling resistance, Falken Wildpeaks are strong and offer low resistance and a great all around tire. Good luck, but check out the JP article. Re-gearing isnt always necessary but well worth it and recommended.

A large online tire sales company has a tool to id weights at different sizes of all tires they sell. Not a sponsor here and personally I prefer not to deal with them. But thats my personal vendetta.

Excellent tire, but they run very small. Hands down the lightest mud terrain available, and although they're the lightest, I found my last set to be extremely tough. Plus they're soft in the rocks and provide incredible traction.

True! sidewall strength is the only downside. I punctured one of mine within a month, but had it professionally patched and it has held up fine

Yea I've been having my eye on those. I know they run small and are light so I think they will be a good choice if I don't regear. I would like to regear but I just don't have the money.
