Default warn vs. ramsey

any thoughts, opinions, previous experience. who's better (not to start a fight, just opinions). i'm not looking at top of the line stuff just good stuff i know will work to get me out of jams if i'm alone. i don't see too many people with ramsey, is the only reason i ask.

Just buy the cheapest one you can afford and be done with it. How often do we use the darn things anyway? If I could use a POS for work no less than 5 - 10 X everyday, then I'm sure it won't matter what name is on the casing.
thanks for the advice

Recently it seems there has been a flood of different name winches on the market. I have always heard good things about Warn & Ramsey. I am looking at Mile Marker I have heard good things about them too. Hopefully the price on some of these things will come down some with the extra name brands on the market.

I've had four Warn winches on different vehicles and they've worked fine...never failed me yet even after long periods of inactivity

Just at Quadratec & 4WD Hardware I found these:
Warn
Ramsey
Superwinch
T-Max
Mile Marker
Tabor

I have also looked at some of these, but don't know much about them.
Bull Dog
Black Mountain
Champion

thanks everyone for your replies. robar thanks for the list of names i will definitely do some looking into these brands. buying a winch isn't top priority of my to do list. someday i would like to know that i can go out on my own and not have to worry about getting stuck with the inability to get out. keep up the discussion cause the more you post the more i learn

I've had 2 Warns. M8000 and a 9.5ti. Both worked great. I don't have any personal experience with the Ramsey winches.
