Default Warn M8000

I was wondering if anone had any experience with this winch or maybe has one on there JK and have used it.

Did it work well?

I picked up one yesterday for $300 and I was wondering do these take oil? I couldn't find any drain holes or fill holes but I took off the clutch engagement and looked inside and everything lookedlike it was greased.

Here is a picture of mine. Just had it about a month and already used it for a couple of short pulls. Seems to work great.

I have one on the front of mine. I've used it to pull some VERY large oak trunks out of a ditch on the property. It wasn't even workin hard.

I have the M8000 on my XJ with 35's and it has pulled without hesitation. It's a strong winch for the price and you know it has the Warn reputation.

The 8000 is a great winch.

Warn winches don't require lubrication, but can be overhauled (and consequently regreased) in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing.

I also have the M8000, got it for $430 new on sale - great value and worked wonderfully in Moab to pull me up some pretty hairy $h1t!

one more question for everyone, I was wondwering how thick most winch plates are?
I am going to make one seeing as I am a safety manager at a welding shop.
Anyone know the thickness?
