so far I like the american expedition one however i dont like the fact that I cant retain my stock foglights...Are cheap winch mount bumpers that retain stock fogs?

I agree. I did mine with some welding help. I learned a lot of things though:

1. I now know why they are so expensive. (20 plus hours into mine after work)
2. Carriage bolts suck when you have to hand file the squares out of 3/16th and 1/2 inch (look at my shackle mounts) steel. X 10 square holes!!!
3. Design is easy, its the engineering part that isnt so easy. (Incorporating winch mount was a treat, but she aint coming off now...ever)

They are tough to build. I spen most of my time changins design plans as certian things I did took away from the bumper. I have over 30 hours in this one. In the 29th hour I was wishing I bougt one; but I am very happy with the final result. The rear bumper should be easier.

There is nothing you cannot build from steel as long as you have a welder and a cutting torch.

I really like my LOD mid width. I don't see it on their site anymore so I'm not sure if they still make it.
