Default Want mellow exhaust, please advise

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum.

I own a 2007 Rubicon that's mostly stock, except for a 3" lift and 35's. I like the engine in this Jeep, it has good torque and smooth power, but I can tell it's struggling a bit to get the exhaust out. I hear a fssssss, fssssss, fssssss while accelerating hard, BUT I actually like the quiet exaust.

My question is, is there an exhaust sytem out there that flows better (without loss of torque), and that's only 10-20% louder than stock. I nice deep burble would be ok with me, but nothing that's going to drone in the cab horribly.

I see there's a ton of manufactures out there that make systems in different configurations. Any advice from experience would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

You mentioned no drone, this is an option here:
Dynomax® Performance Exhaust | 2011-2007 JEEP JK Wrangler Unlimited w/3.8L 4 DR: Single - 2.5" Cat-Back system, 3" Polished Stainless Steel Tip, DynoMax VT®

While it will be louder than stock on throttle, cruising around it is very mellow.
If you just want to replace the muffler look to a 2.5" in the OVER 4.0 application.
Good luck!

I have the Dynomax VT on my JKU. It has a nice low tone at idle and is NOT loud.
Really the only time I hear it is at full throttle and even then my K&N CAI is as loud.

I liked this muffler so much I put one on my Hemi Rubicon. It is very aggressive in that application, but I'm getting used to it....

Thanks, which MBRP? The one with the muffler under the cab, or the one with the muffler in the stock area?

Mechanical muffler.....interesting. Any failures with the valve design?

Does Dynomax sell a "Muffler Back" Kit? What is the OVER 4.0 Application?

Thanks

Keep the stock one. Exhaust on a stock Jk will net you zero results. Get a programmer, gears, sprintbooster, or all three

Nothing wrong with your exhaust. If there is any restriction its on the air intake or the cats. Aftermarket exhaust for a jeep wrangler is kind of a waste of money.

I pulled the exhaust, cut the resonator off, put a hushpower in front, then welded the resonator back in. Reworked the rest of the piping to turn out behind the rear axle. Very mellow.
