want to get 35's......one day
I have a 2010 x with BF goodrich tires which i belive are 33's, anyways i would like to know what i would need to run 35's without breaking stuff. I wheel the beach mainly and would like to be capable of going in the woods on occasions.
What do i need to buy without breaking shit?
what should i regear too? and how much does this cost just in partd?

The Dana 30 should be ok if you are nice to the gas pedal...I would recommend going to 4.88 or 5.13 gears. Everything else should work fine.

This is probably the most discussed topic in this forum.
In summary, for best performance:
1. 4.88 for manual
2. 5.13 for auto
In terms of lift a 2.5" BB or coil lift will provide sufficient clearance.
There is some very useful info in the FAQ of the Modified Sub-Forum.

As far as where to buy the gears, there are several sponsors here on the forum. If you buddy doesn't have all of the tools and experience to do the install, I would search of a shop and get it done by a professional who will warranty the work.

Typically places sell an install kit and an overhaul kit. The overhaul kit will include EVERYTHING needed, such as bearings, ring and pinions, shims...and it better for vehicles with more mileage.
Check out this link...excellent write up..

I still can't decide what to do, either 15s with 35s or 16s and 33s because of prices. I will have a Sport w/3.73, can't regear just yet, but will do later on probably next year.
What would you all recommend.
