how many HP and torque the Hypertech Max Energy programmer will add to the wrangler and would it cause any problems in the car?

The most cost effective way is .... get a freeflow exhuast, a stage 3 chip...and a cold air intake system..thats looking at roughly 1500 bucks... not bad for a 45HP increase..

funny to hear all these opinions

I added a stage 2 from Jet, airaid cold air box, gibson cat back exhaust and the only thing I noticed was a bunch of noise. I wouldn't even mind the noise if the motor had some balls in the trade off but it's still a dog. I only wish I didn't toss all the original parts or I would put it all back to stock and just accept it for what it is.......a JEEP!

Buy a Vette if you want performance

Jeeps are for wheelin

Side effects of a supercharger
Thank you people for your response.

Some one suggested installing a supercharger and I just want to know what are the negative affects the supercharger will have on my Wrangler?

will probably blow up the motor!

that is the most logical responce posted so far. I do know for a fact the CAI's work. I have designed my own in the past for my drag cars. anytime you cool the intake charge you are going to make power. Will you feel this power? Probably not but never the less it is there. 15-20 HP gains will not be "felt" but they will show up in performance test ie. 1/4 mile times, 0-60 times, etc. There is a company developing 300HP from these engines with a turbo and single digit boost. Look at the Buick grand national's from the 80's. Those car's run a 3.8L 231 cid v-6 and a turbo and they would beat any stock production v-8 powered car from that era.

A statement from someone who clearly has no idea about superchargers.

Wow, i think that the people who know nothing about engine performance shouldnt post in these kinds of threads. Every time i open a freakin thread like this i hope to see some real responses. All i ever hear is to do a hemi swap or supercharger. This is worse than the FJ forums.

Ok MR TUFF GUY SMARTIE PANTS

the motor is not designed for an extra 100 HP the way it comes from the factory

if you think you will just bolt on a supercharger and not expect the next weakest link in the chain to break without going through the entire motor/trans you are the fool

been there done that

, if I had the cash to throw one one my JK, I would just to prove you wrong. It has potential for power gains of 100 h.p., you can run it on stock internals, you just can run at full boost like a moron. Google this before you open your mouth again, apperently you have know knowledge. You've been there done that, the wrong way. You want a smartie pants tough guy , you got one.
