I know that this is an old thread, but I am still suffering the vibration. I just had my tires road force balanced AGAIN and it is still there. I pulled the front driveshaft...still there. I pulled the rear driveshaft.....still there. Next suggestion??? Thanks

I had a similar vibration, checked everything on my JK. Rebalanced the tires several times, rotated the tires around and found it to be that one tire is either out of round or something to that effect. Good luck, I know how you feel, mine drove me nuts!!

I'm sure everyones situation is different. I had this same problem on my 2007. When I reached about 55mph I would start to get a wobble/vibration. I just happended to have the stock tires and wheels in my garage that I had pulled off the jeep at 18,000 miles. I put them back on and hit the highway. My wobble was gone. In my case it was my tires/wheels. I had taken the jeep to the shop twice for balancing and alignment. Even had the ball joints changed out. Ultimately it was my tires. Even after havinbg them balanced. I am clueless how that happend.

You feel it in the steering wheel and in the seat. yes

The vibration osculates from the front to the back of the vehicle? more in and out...at same speed on cruise it comes in and out

No change with:

New tires
Road force alanced tires/wheels
New rear axle shafts
With or without front or rear driveshaft
New front adjustable control arms

Are your alignment caster specs more than 5 degrees? Is your caster or toe out of spec? I have not had it professionally aligned. My measurements have the caster at about 5 and toe in at about 1/16"

Have you inspected your ball joints for up/down play in the lower ball joint? yes, ball joints seem solid

Was the wear on your old tires cupped, or feathered? No, stock tires were fine with 32k mi. on them. First replacement tires were fine after 8k. I have 8k on the KM2's and they seem fine.

Have you put both axles on jack stands, pulled the wheels/tires, and run the drivetrain over 45 mph to see if it is still there?
(Be very careful when you do this. You will need to do this in 4wd or you will get a diagnostic trouble code if the rear axle runs at 45 mph while the front doesn't.) No, I have not done this. I will try tomorrow.

I wonder if you have a bad or loose motor mount, transmission mount, or transfer case mount. This could account for the pulsation of the vibration. I have no idea.

Have you inspected your front axle unit bearings and axle u-joints for play? No, I just had gussets and sleeves put on and my guy knew I was having issues and was looking while working so I assume he looked at these components.

I am sure you have pulled the lug retainer clips to run aftermarket wheels right? Yes, I have.

I have the same problem at around 55-65 mph.... sometimes its there sometimes its not.... smetimes its really felt throught the steering wheel other times its subtle. Ive tried diffrent toe settings, diffrent caster angles and have checked all compnents with no avail. I rack it up to the wheels and tires since when i rotate its not nearly as bad and ive just had them rebalanced again. My next route is to try these
ht tp://www.innovativebalancing.com/index.php since my buddy is using them with no problems whatsoever. Good luck

A good shop should be able to laser sight those driveshafts for straighness, sounds like you bent one.
