Default Vibration or Rattle Noise Coming From the T-case/Trans area.

I drive a 2012 JKU rubi with a 6-speed and I'm experiencing a vibration/rattling noise coming from below the shifter area while driving around town. It seems to present itself in the RPM range of 2k-2200. It can be heard most prevalently in 4th gear but can also be heard in gears 3-5 in the same RPM range.I have a 3" LA lift and am running 1310 JE Reel shafts with 4.8* caster checked at the pinion flange. I've felt no driveline vibrations and its been about 4800 miles with this setup. I have the aFe crossover pipe which I've had issues with rubbing/vibrating on the trans mount but it doesn't sound like the vibrating sound I've had in the past. I also have the evo trans skid which appears to be making contact the the exhaust hanger bracket on the trans and have yet to trouble shoot that. What could this noise possibly be? My fear is driveline vibration damage in the t-case but as mentioned I haven't experienced any vibrations. Anyone with any information please share ur experiences. Any and all info is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had a rattle in the same area on my '08 JKU. In my case it turned out to be coming from the exhaust at the pax to driver crossover. There is a welded shield where that pipe runs under the trans; it is welded in six spots and one of the corner welds had broken. Took 10 minutes to weld back into place after an embarrassingly long time to find.

My rattle did not start until around 40K miles so I have no idea if this is your problem but it is a place to look.

I have the same year and model and have the same rattle. only 70k miles on it. I will take a look to see if it is the same location.

Thanks.

Turns out that the heat shield above the muffler is loose. So after researching some mufflers I may be getting a
Dynomax 39510 Super Turbo Muffler Cat-Back Dual Exhaust System anyway since I loved the sound of the dual exhausts. My wife's cousin is a mechanic and will help me put it on since I do not have a welder.

Not mine.
