Default Vibration between 1000 and 1700rpm

Hello,
I have a lot of vibration between 1000 and 1700rpm whatever the speed. I think it's due to torque converter in the 42RLE.

Do you think if I can replace the torque converter by a new one to solve this issue ? What model exactly ?

Thanks,
Ludo

I saw this proposal for 42RLE heavy duty:
https://www.atsdiesel.com/ats-42rle?...sociated=13899

Do you think if it's a good idea for the price or I should buy a standard rebuilt transmission ?

More info and detail is needed.. what year is your Jeep, mileage, how is/have you used, modifications? All these are needed to start with suggestions.

Could be crankshaft harmonic balancer going.

Usually you can see if it is misaligned when the engine is idling viewed from underneath. Or a magnetic dial gauge mounted nearby and asocket to rotate the crankshaft around while watching the needle on the dial. There is an outer ring of steel held to an inner core with a rubber insert in the middle. That rubber sometimes gets saturated with oil and deteriorates or you will see it bulging out.

Do the 1000-1700 rpm vibes happen in park/neutral? If no, that rules out most balance issues like the front crank pulley/harmonic balancer. Do the 1000-1700 rpm vibes happen during immediate full throttle from a stop? It might actually be a shudder rather than vibration from the torque convertor's friction material during lockup -- Maybe just change the trans fluid???

No I feel the issue only during driving and nothing when the oil is cold. This is why I suspect the torque converter

Fluid and filter change might fix it, I'd try that before pulling the trans out.
