Default Viair 400c Compressor

How well does this operate without a tank? I acquired one today along with a 2.5 gallon Viair tank. I am not excited about mounting the tank in the back of my jeep and cannot find enough space underneath to mount it unless I hack off the muffler. Any ideas?

I had a 400P which is the same compressor just the portable version and it worked well. I used it for about 8 years filling the stock 245's on my 04 Rubi all the way up to 35's. I sold it to a friend after i installed an ARB under the hood of my JK, and its still working great. My friend also runs 35's. HTH

Is that tank the 200 psi or the 150 psi one? If it is the 200 psi one and u decide to not install it I will buy it off you. Pm me if u want to sell it.

The tank and compressor can be mounted in your engine compartment. check jeepswag.com for some pics with mounting brackets.

Unfortunately it has to be a 2.0 gallon tank, the 2.5 is just slightly too big to fit between the radiator and the fan.

I'm using the 400p automatic and it works great for filling up my 35's. On my last trip we did 2 sets of 35's without issue.

I haven't tried running any tools off it though.

It's the 150 psi tank. I may get a smaller one to install under the hood. It's a 2013 rubi. There is hardly any space in that engine compartment.

Mounted the compressed in the back in the storage tub. Drilled a hole in my AEV rear bumper and mounted a male air fitting. I'll post pics tomorrow. It looks sweet.

There's also a company that makes an evap skid/tank mount.
