Vacuum Pump ?
I relocated my Vacuum pump with OR fab kit so I can install winch.
How do I know if it is working correctly?
What does the pump actually do ?
Thanks

This is what I was told at the service department. The vacuum pump is there to give added power when braking under emergency situations. It's a part of the BAS or PBS (Brake Assist System or Panic Braking System) and is included in all of the chryslers vehicles that have the 3.6L engine. I was also told that relocating mine as I had done had voided my warranty on the pump, though I argued it for quite some time.
I had inquired about this as I can hear the pump run a couple of times after releasing the brake pedal during a cold start. Rather annoying with how loud it is and has probably always done this except that it was up under the bumper before where I couldn't hear it. Service manager said that unless I heard it running all the time not to worry about it.

The reason the 3.6L engine has to have a vacuum pump is the engine doesn't make enough manifold vacuum under some conditions, due to the variable valve train. The pump is added to ensure there is always enough vacuum to operate the various systems that require it, especially the brakes.

Will it throw a CEL if not functioning correctly?

So I should be able to hear a noise coming from the pump? I guess that would be an indicator of it functioning but I don’t want to hear it run frequently? Correct?
Thank you all

I hear it run twice for a few seconds when I first start it up and only when I use the brake pedal. Otherwise I've never heard it.
Also, I believe is was around $400 to get a new one. Best to treat it nicely.

Any one else have any idea how I can verify this works?
