Default Using wheel spacers with aftermarket wheels

Is it ok to use wheel spacers with aftermarket wheels that have 4.5 back spacing. Just trying to get a wider stance

It's going to put a lot of leverage on the axles, how wide are the rims?

If your using wheel spacers which I don't recommend then at least get some longer wheel studs so there are enough threads engaged to hold the tire on properly.

All the aftermarket wheels I've looked at already have more backspacing than a 1.5" spacer, so what would be the point?

Apart from looks and rim width, the good thing about aftermarket wheels is you can pick one with the backspacing you need so that spacers aren't needed.

I don't mean to hijack your thread, however I am looking at wheels that only come with 3.5" backspacing. If I add 1.25" wheel spacers would that put the backspacing at 4.75" or is that not how it works?

Yes I'm talking about hub centric and the only thing I'm trying to do is a wider stance. The 12.50's I have now with 4.5 backspaced wheels put the edge of the tire even with the fender. I'd like to have them out a little further than the fenders

I think you would be ok with 1.25 - 1.5 spacers with that setup. You will however chew up the paint on your doors and rear fender with the tires sticking out that far

You sure they're 12.5? My backspacing is the same, running 35x12.5 and my tires stick out an inch

Mine stick out about 1.5 inches with 33/12.5s with 16x9 wheels with 4.5 inches if backspacing...
