Use of cam washers to correct caster
Was hoping someone could explain why the use of cam washers to correct caster is not preferred.
From what I have researched, for every person that says it's bad, there is someone that says their use is fine.
Kind of like the use of wheel spacers ( yes I know it's a completely different situation). Some say no, others say no problem.
Thoughts?

They have been known to slip with offroad use, taking you right back to the bad caster you were trying to get rid of. Some people have had good luck with welding them in place. Another downside is that you have to notch out the brackets, so if you later choose to add adjustable arms, you need to do something about the holes.

Don't do it
DO NOT DO IT!
I had cam bolts - they never held a torque setting, so were constantly loose. Also, because the slot for them is not round, they have a tendency to "wear" into the groove, making them looser. They also caused damaged to my LCA mounts. Nothing good can come out of them.
