Default Upgrading wheels and tires, no lift

I've been searching the forums for a couple days now and think I've made a decision, but I'm hoping for corrections, confirmation and/or comments.

We're picking up our Unlimited Sport today, and the stock 16" wheels and tires look too cheesy.



I've kinda decided on 17" wheels and 265/70R17 Duratracs. (It seems that the Duratracs aren't available in 255/75-17?) That would go up a couple inches in diameter to 31.6. I've read that 32" is the highest recommended "no-rub" diameter so I guess I'm ok there. The width is 10.4", which is about an inch and a half wider than stock and .4" wider than the stock Rubi tires.

What do you all think? Let the opinions flow...

Get duratracs, they are awesome

And i see you got half doors! lucky lucky lucky. i should have made that choice when i picked up my jeep, i was just too excited to even speak

Can't comment on the tires and wheels but man am I envious of the half doors. Just might need to through a flat black vinyl sticker on the "b" pillar so the whole side is black, probably look pretty good.

If you keep your 16" wheels you could get duratracs that have the same specs as the 265/70R17 tires you are looking at (265/75R16) but you would save the cost of new wheels in addition to the tires themselves are $20 cheaper apiece. So if you are planning on upgrading all 5 wheels and tires to the new size you would save $100 on the tires themselves plus the entire cost of the new rims. Just something to think about

I did that for 6 months, but with tires other than Duratracs. Worked fine. If you find a deal on a used set of spacers it'll look a little better, too.

Im running 35x13 on stock height, flat flares and 4.75 BS wheels. Only rubbing at full articulation and at steering lock on the drivers side frame rail.

Go 16x8 265/75 thats what I'm running and it fills up the fenders pretty well with no rubbing and you gotta go black wheels!on the white jk!

I'm getting 17" pro comp wheels with 4.5" BS and 33" Duratracs today. From what I've read, there should be no rubbing issues with stock suspension.
