Upgrade stock Dana 30 front axle to mopar new gen Dana 44
How costly to have the dealership install new mopar front axle Dana 44 and upgrade gears from 3.73 to 4.10s? All the parts can be purchased from the dealership but how big of a deal is it to install.

PR44 shipped to your door, $4500ish. Add a few hundred for swapping your D30 ends onto it and installing.
New front rubi D44, $3000ish plus $600-$1000 for gears plus the labor to swap your D30 ends and install. And then add all of the gussets and sleeves and truss and alloys, the wiring and switches for the locker, etc.
You are much, much better off with a PR than buying a 'new' rubi44...
At a dealership? Add another 10-25% to the costs ??

Thanks for the responses. I just purchased a new 2011 Sport 2dr 6speed. I have upgraded wheels and tires MT MTZ 33x12.5x17s. Dont need a lift, and dont off road much as I would like, but would like the 4.10 gears and the heavier front end. My JK price was 9K less than a base model Rubi 2Dr and I figure I would mod as I need.
When does the dana 44 over dana 30 need really come in?

Keep an eye on the for sale section and craigslist/ebay. You can sometimes find a good deal on a used rubi front. There was a post last week saying he was picking one up for $600. And there was another post a few months ago with a fully upgraded rubi44 for $1200. (gussets, sleeves, gears, everything). Good deals can be found if you look around long enough, but if/when you find one, be ready to put down money on the spot!!
$1500-$2000 for a stock axle will be more likely though...
And remember that you will still need to re-gear the rear axle to match the front ratio.
