I certainly believe its livable if the majority of your travels are on secondary roads. Unfortunatly, my daily commute is 120 miles per day of pretty much all highway cruising at 65-70mph. Most of the time I also am on my motorcyle, but I still need the Jeep for when the weather gets too crappy to ride. I'm sure your combination is awesome once you get offroad. Now all you need is a 4:1 trasfer case out of a Rubicon

You shouldn't have any problems using 6th gear if you go to 265's IMO. My 09 had 3:21's and I went straight to 35" Krawlers from the stock 225's and I used 6th gear every time I drove it. I went on to 37" MT/R's and still used 6th on the highway. Never re-geared from the 3:21's either.

It looks like most everyone is of a similar opinion, don't do the 245s.
My Jeep came stock with 245/75R16s and those things were tiny. It seems like if you are going to spend the money on tires you might as well at least get a noticeable bump in size.
If you do a 265/75R16 that will be about 32" OD, similar to the Rubicon so I don't think you'd have any issues.
