Default under seat storage box

I want to install a Bestop under seat lock box (mfr part # 42640) on my 2012, but read that they won't fit under the 2011's seats. Anybody installed one on a 2012.

Kind've confusing, since most sites list it as available for '07-'12's...

I saw a thread on another forum recently about that exact topic. A few people reporting having to remove a bracket that held wires for seat heater and occupant detection. The bracket was replaced by zip-tying the wires to the outside seat frame. But there's a catch - that was on the 4-door. Apparently the 2-door versions have fold-and-tumble front seats. These have a seat frame bar running right across the front that prevents the use of any under-seat storage boxes.

Also, you might seriously consider the Tuffy box instead of the Bestop. Check out the following for a comparison done by Dave at Northridge 4x4:

I've got a Tuffy under seat drawer ordered. Just waiting for it to arrive. It should fit my unlimited just fine after moving the wire harness.

X3 on the Tuffy. I currently have the Bestop one on my 4 door. The locking mechanism has fallen apart twice now. The box itself is solid enough and does the trick but if you want something reliable, I woudnt recommend this one.

I think the Tuffy is a little bigger also. Check out this thread comparing both:

You're right, it is bigger. Plus drawer pulls out farther. Thanks.
