Default U-joint Help!!!!!

Ok, im gettin ready to install my lift. I am going to replace my drive shaft U joints. Are they the same as the wheel joints. I cannot find any to fit.

are you refering to the factory front drive shaft? if so, i believe it is different then the axle shafts.

Why do most auto parts stores carry the wheel joints and not the drive.shaft joints? Pisses me off

Nothing better than being obligated to make a degraded trip to the stealer for parts you should be able to get quickly and cheap anywhere they sell auto parts

well, if you just upgrade to a 1310 or 1350 shaft like i personally think you should, you can find replacements at most napa auto parts store

Wheel ends are 1310 with "inside snap rings" and the driveshafts are staked. Jeep engineering required very low balance specs for the driveshafts. This is to reduce vibration. As a result the staked joints are required to meet these levels. The 1310 aftermarket shafts will work fine but are likely to have increased NVH levels.

If you bump the gear set up beyond the 4.10 you should consider larger wheel end UJs. This will require new axle shaft due to the bearing OD and span increase.
